High School Tournament
We will be inviting up to 70 elite CPS high school players to vie
for $26,000 in college scholarships.
The high school event is divided into two sections: frosh-soph, and
junior-senior. Players must play in their natural section. Top
finishers will receive college scholarship money. Trophies will be
awarded to the top five finishers in each division. All players will
receive medals and door prizes.
Elementary School Tournament
We will be inviting up to 70 elite CPS elementary school
players to participate in five divisions: K-2, 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8.
Players must play in their natural section. Trophies will be awarded
to the top five finishers in each division. All players will receive
medals and door prizes.
Players must have a "C" average to be eligible.
Players who receive invitations will need to RSVP via e-mail. Please
include the player's name and grade in your RSVP. Send your RSVP to:

Name: 13th Annual MVP Chess Tournament for CPS,
Sponsored by the David R. Macdonald Foundation.
Date: April 1, 2010. This is Thursday of spring
break.
Time: Check-in at 9:30 am., first round around
10:00.
Place: Harold Washington Library (in the Winter
Garden), at the corner of Van Buren Street and State Street.
Awards: Around 5:00
